Information on Sheridan Memorial Park
Sheridan Memorial Park is a regional park, and will feature a memorial to veterans
of the U.S. military. Future park amenities include a memorial reflecting pool and
flagpole honoring U.S. veterans, a peace garden, a picnic area and river overlooks. Development of Sheridan Memorial Park will occur as funds become available; the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB) will obtain funding for park development
while the Sheridan Neighborhood Organization (SNO) has committed to fundraise for
the memorial features. Designs for the park are the result of a year-long planning process between the MPRB, SNO, Mississippi Watershed Management Organization, elected officials, the Above the Falls Citizens Advisory Committee, neighborhood residents and veterans. Sheridan Memorial Park is identified in the City of Minneapolis and MPRB Above the Falls Master Plan, which guides development along the banks of the Mississippi River
north of St. Anthony Falls. Help plant a tree!
