The Northeast Minneapolis Board of Directors meets once a month to focus on the issues that face our member businesses. The Board continually evaluates and discusses new opportunities for the Chamber to better serve our membership. We strive to provide a variety of networking, educational, social and community events which allow our businesses and organizations to grow and thrive.
The statements below are a result of extensive discussion and evaluation of or past programming, member feedback and future opportunities.
Purpose:
To make Northeast Minneapolis a better place to live, work and do business.
Mission Statement:
The Northeast Minneapolis Chamber of Commerce promotes the development of strong, diverse and economically viable businesses and community organizations.
Priority Goals:
Economic Development
Objective: Promote and stimulate the growth and prosperity of member businesses and organizations
Strategy:
- Conduct events that enable members to build relationships with one another to promote their business
- Partner with other organizations to promote NE as a destination
Public Policy
Objective: Mobilize the chamber membership to advocate policies that make our community a better place to live, work and do business
Strategy:
- Promote Public Policy updates and resources on our web site, message board, the Northeaster Newspaper and other local media
- Create and plan events for public education and dialogue with public policy makers
Membership
Objective: Create and communicate a value premise that maximizes retention and attracts new members.
Strategies:
- Get input from membership regarding perceived value
- Show economic value in marketing materials used for recruitment
- Create incentives for members to recruit new members
- Implement a membership committee that develops a prospect pipeline
