Grand Marshall & Community Ambassadors

The Northeast Minneapolis community is full of good hearted and civically involved residents and business people who contribute to our quality of life. Take a moment and nominate a deserving person for the honor of Grand Marshall or one of our Community Ambassadors of the 81st Celebrate Northeast Parade.

Nominees for Grand Marshall should possess a number of qualities to be considered a candidate:

  • A long standing presence in the Northeast Community
  • Highly visible contributions to the community that have had a lasting impact
  • Involvement in various aspects of the community ie: business, volunteering, faith communities and social service organizations

Individuals can also be nominated in one of the following Community Ambassador categories and should possess similar qualities as the Grand Marshall:

  • Youth
  • Artist/Art Patron
  • Senior
  • Volunteer
  • Business Person
  • Eastside Guardian Award


The members of the volunteer parade committee will review all of the nominations and select a winner on April 20th. Winners will be notified shortly thereafter. The Grand Marshall and Community Ambassadors will be asked to submit a short biography and a photo for publication on the Celebrate Northeast Parade website and will appear in the pre-parade edition of the Northeaster. Winners will also be asked to ride along the parade route on Tuesday, June 22nd.


The deadline for nominations is Thursday, April 15th. The enclosed form must be completed and sent to the Northeast Minneapolis Chamber of Commerce office 2329 Central Avenue NE, Mpls., MN 55418 or faxed to 612 378-8870.
