Bloomington Future Leaders
The Bloomington Future Leaders program is a joint effort between Bloomington ISD #271 and the Chamber. This program provides opportunities for chamber members and students at Jefferson and Kennedy High Schools to build relationships with each other while allowing the students to gain insight into different aspects of the businesses of Bloomington and the South Metro.
Ways to Impact our Future Leaders
- Joint community service projects with Community Outreach Volunteers
- Mock interviews at Jefferson and Kennedy High Schools
- Fall and Spring Business Conferences
- Support of student preparation for regional and state DECA competitions
2017 Winter Conference
Students from Jefferson, Kennedy and Academy of Holy Angels high schools met with members of the Bloomington business community in February at the BFL Winter Conference. The conference theme was Adversity / Diversity - How To Be A Winner In Today's World. Three speakers shared their experiences and challenged the students with case studies geared to make students think about business ethics, problem solving, flexibility, professionalism and others skills that they will need as they work towards their career goals.
